Listed towards the bottom of the page is some contact information for area utility providers. 

Regardless of whether you are moving into an apartment, condo or townhouse, you will generally need to hook up some utilities. In most apartments and townhome communities, you will be required to pay for electric power and, in some, water and / or gas. Generally, those that are "all bills paid" are either older apartment communities or corporate apartments. "All bills paid" apartments pay for basic utilities such as electricity and water. A corporate apartment may provide everything including telephone and furniture. 

Area utilities have certain requirements for establishing service, including address of former provider, employment information, driver's license number, Social Security number and phone numbers.

The power utilities in Texas are in the process of being deregulated. Sometime in 2002, consumers will have many choices for  their electric provider.

Reliant Energy Houston Lighting and Power (HL&P) and Texas/New Mexico Power supply electricity to the area. HL&P is one of the nation's largest investor-owned, tax-paying utilities. Residential electric bills are the sum of the base rate charges, plus adjustment factors. The bill may include a franchise tax on gross amount for service and sales tax. Reliant Energy Entex supplies gas to the area. To apply for service, phone 713-659-2111.

The Clear Lake City Water Authority provides water and sewer services for 

The eight additional municipalities provide water / sewer services by calling the individual city.

For most utilities, new customers without credit must pay a deposit.
